Songs for the Season—Day 6
What a Glorious Night - Sidewalk Prophets
Luke 2:8-11
And in the same region from there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
Lyrics:
The shepherds came to See the baby Stood by his mother's side Here laid the Savior Inside a manger
Oh what a glorious night Oh what a glorious night
I hear the angels singing halleluiah Let the earth receive her king I know that love has come Singing it out Jesus Christ is born Jesus Christ is born Yeah
The shepherds wondered They couldn't hide it Told everyone in sight All were amazed When they heard how God came down on the glorious night God came down on this glorious night
I hear the angels singing halleluiah Let the earth receive her king I know that love has come Singing it out Jesus Christ is born Jesus Christ is born Yeah
Heavenly Father,
How we sing Halleluiah for sending Your precious son to walk with us on this earth. What a day that must have been to hear the angels sing of the birth of the King! This season may more and more people discover who You are and why You came. Use us mightily in the lives of those who live in darkness. May this season be much more than shopping, trees, Santa, and good food. "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints." Ephesians 1:18. Amen.
