Matthew 1:18-22
Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. And her husband Joseph, being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to divorce her quietly. But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.”
Go to sleep my Son
This manger for your bed
You have a long road before You
Rest Your little head
Can You feel the weight of Your glory?
Do You understand the price?
Or does the Father guard Your heart for now
So You can sleep tonight?
I believe the glory of Heaven
Is lying in my arms tonight
But Lord, I ask that He for just this moment
Simply be my child
God, I am so thankful for the gifts and talents of songwriters, singers, and musicians. The gift of music is so helpful for worship. And, at this time of year, it adds much to our experience. I feel led today to pray for those whose work has added so much to our Christmas study. Pour out your blessing over their lives for the hard work they've done to share Your story with the world. While this is a very general prayer for a lot of individuals, I trust that You know each and every one of them personally. Pour out Your favor over them today in a way that lets them know their work matters.
