Music and the Messiah
Day 19
Matthew 1:23
Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child and shall bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”
Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
O Holy Night – sung by Tommee Profitt with Tauren Wells and SvrCina
Lyrics
O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Truly He taught us to love one another
His law is love and His gospel is peace
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name
Fall on your knees! O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born;
O night divine, O night, O night Divine.

Dear Lord, We lift up our voices in praise to you...Immanuel, King of kings, and Lord of lords! We thank you, Father, for that night, that Holy Night, so long ago when our Savior was born! As we approach Christmas Day, may we all keep our eyes on Jesus, the reason for the season. In Jesus' name and for the Father's glory, Amen.
