Day 18
Matthew 2:1-12
Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” … And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
"Glorious" - by We the Kingdom
Wise men crossing deserts in the night
Following the prophecy, the promised light
Fragile finger, precious little eyes
The Son of God was filled with saving fire
Earth behold the savior of the world
He’s the hope for every man and women, boy and girl
The lungs that cried out through the stable walls
Were the ones that cried it’s finished once and for all
Glorious, glorious
God is here, It’s Christmas
Emmanuel, the light has come
He is glorious
So glorious

Dear Lord,
There is so much we can learn from the Wise Men long ago!
May we seek you with eager curiosity,
find and rejoice in you with great joy,
bow down before you with holy reverence,
and give you our best treasure, which is our heart.
Here we are together as Soul Sisters worshipping you. There are hundreds of miles between us, but we are unified in the Spirit you gave us. Thank you for coming to each one of us, for shining your radiant light onto us, into us, and out of us. We are humbled to call you Savior. We are grateful to call you King.
In your precious name, Jesus. Amen.
