Isaiah 41:17 The afflicted and needy are seeking water, but there is none, and their tongue is parched with thirst; I, the Lord, will answer them Myself, as God of Israel I will not forsake them. I will open rivers in bare heights and springs in the midst of valleys....
Luke 2:1-7 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered… And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling clothes and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Heavenly Father, Here we are just days away from our Saviors birth. How can we adequately thank you for this gift ? Help us begin this week with praising you as we sing this beautiful song. Glory be to You ,dear Jesus. Please forgive us when we get side tracked which seems to be so easy to do this time of year. Help our minds and hearts stay on track when we want to check things off the "to- do" lists. Keep our eyes on you, Jesus. Indeed you are not only the reason for the season, but the reason we have life. As we look around today in our own little worlds, open our eyes to recognize all the miracles you have given each one of us. Amen
