Focus: Jesus will bring His righteousness to mankind.
Today’s verses:
Psalm 89:14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; lovingkind-ness and truth go before You.
Jeremiah 23:5-6 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch; and He will reign as king and act wisely and do justice and righteousness in the land. In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell secure-ly; and this is His name by which He will be called, ‘The Lord our righteousness.’”
Psalm 44:4-5 You are my King, O God; command victories for Jacob. Through You, we will push back our adversaries; through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us.
How many of you have done a study of the Enneagram? It has been such an enlightening study for me this year. I'm getting to know myself in a whole new way. I don't want to use my space to teach the Enneagram. But, what I've discovered about myself is that I'm a ONE. An enneagram one is called the Reformer, the Perfectionist, the Improver. Our overall desire is to be good and to bring good into the world. Recently, I read an article that stated each of the 9 Enneagram numbers exhibits a characteristic of God. The ones characterize (in minimal ways) God's righteousness. That's all wonderful! However, I've realized that my basic desires cause me to set high expectations for others. I'm searching for righteousness in everything and everyone. If you'd like to know how that's working for me, many times it's been a setup for disappointment. Today's message and scripture remind me that there is only One who is truly righteous. His is my King, and He will return to rule in righteousness. Until then, I can trust Him with the details of my life and this world.
How does the promise of a “King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right” give you hope in your life today?

God, thank you for Your righteousness. In the midst of a world that is turned upside down with the opposite of righteousness, I'm relieved that Your righteousness reigns. Your Word says that You see the righteousness of Christ when you look at us who are Your children. I don't know how, but I'm choosing to claim that. All of my attempts at righteous living are a waste. Help us today to see Christ, our righteous King, in a way that allows us to rest, relax, and live in peace with the One who lived perfectly in our place and reigns perfectly for our freedom.
