Jesus: King of Heaven and Earth

Focus: Jesus rules with all authority over heaven and earth.

Today’s verses:

Psalm 89:11 The heavens are Yours, and Yours also the earth; You founded the world and all that is in it.

Job 38:12 Have you ever in your life commanded the morning and caused the dawn to know its place?

Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God also highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Have you ever thought about how incredible it is that God can multi-task? I am amazed to think that He keeps the earth spinning while at the same time He keeps my life from spiraling out of control! He controls the oceans and the hurricanes and at the same time, He quiets the storm of my life. How great is our God!

What is something that amazes you about God’s sustaining power in creation?

Dear Lord, We praise You, Lord for how powerful You are! There's nothing that you can't handle! You created the universe, the earth where we love, and you created us. When I worry, feel weary, or wonder what's next...help me remember that You created all things and call do all things...all at the same time! How great Thou art! It's in Jesus' name and for the Father's glory we ask all things. Amen.
