"Looking for Lovely"

Oh, girls. My heart is so full. I am reading Looking for Lovely along with you. I’m not even one week ahead. I write on Saturday. I wake up a little later than normal, do my regular quiet time, eat a little breakfast. Then, I open up our book to read the next two chapters and write. Some days the writing comes quickly, and I’m all finished by noon. Some of the chapters have taken a little longer. My point is that I’m not reading ahead!

You can imagine my surprise when I opened to the next chapter, “My People,” to see that Annie started with the verses I felt led to share last week, Philippians 1:3-4. Wow! I guess this is a message God wanted us to get in double portion this summer.

So, open up your summer book club book and enjoy Paul’s scripture again. Then, read "My People." I have so many thoughts about this chapter and the next on we'll read this week. I can tell today will not be a Saturday where I wrap up by noon. That’s OK. God is uncovering some obstacles to lovely in my life, and I’m praying His lessons for me speak to you as well.

God, Your Word is so powerful. And John 1 tells us that Your Word is the life of Jesus Christ who is living and active through the Holy Spirit here today. You’ve led us to a particular scripture twice. Help us to hear it well and apply it fully. Thank you for being so intentional with us. Amen.
