"Looking for Lovely"

Read Psalm 16.

I shared some of this Psalm with you yesterday, and today I wanted you to read it entirely. It is full of so much goodness! I shared verse 6 in The Passion Translation yesterday. Look at it from The Message,

“My choice is you, God, first and only. And now I find I’m your choice! You set me up with a house and yard. And then you made me your heir.”

Y’all, I can’t stand it. THIS is our God. The maker of Heaven and Earth and all that is in it has given you and me the spaces and places around us. As His heir, what is His is ours.

I’m afraid I’ve spent so much of my life attempting to carefully manage what is mine…. So much energy trying not to overstep the boundaries of what is mine and not mine. But,

“Yahweh claims the world as his. Everything and everyone belong to him!” Psalm 24:1

If I am His heir, then what is His is mine. If He’s enjoying it all, I want to enjoy it all.

I was hard on myself yesterday! I shared with you that I’ve not given my full self to this space in FL that is now my home. I’m not sure I have places here that house the fulness of God’s presence for me like some of the places in my former life. But, today, I want to give myself credit. I’m making progress. I’m trying new places and new things. I’m letting the locals (good friends) show me new places. I’m embarking on adventures. And, I’m watching. Soon, I’m expecting God to lead me somewhere special where He will speak to my soul uniquely. I promise…. I’ll tell you all about it. J

God, this Earth is Yours and every, single thing in it. That means all things can be holy when we see them through You. Help us to put our “musts,” and “should,” and “rules” away so that we can experience the magnitude of Your holiness. Surprise us with Your presence in our usual places. Amen.
