Journeying with Resurrected Jesus in Fear

I have really enjoyed reading the comments from you this week. And, I love the verses Hester Jane Burnside included for us yesterday. In Isaiah 41:10 and Joshua 1:9, we are given reason for living without fear. God is with us! So, when the emotion of fear rises up, we don't have to shame ourselves. We do need to remind ourselves that we don't have to let in rule and run our lives. We can give acknowledge it in the presence of our strong and loving God.

There are so many worship songs that talk about fear. Many of them speak powerful messages about fear. Today, though, I wanted to share a song that ministers to me in the middle of my fear. In moments when I'm staring at fear, because my situation is very much scary, the words of this song lead me to The One who helps me relax, let go, and breathe. I pray it ministers to you as well.

Jesus, thank you for journeying with us. Sometimes we don't recognize You, but we believe You are here. There are times when we are sad, disappointed, and even a little lost in this world, because the expectations of our humanity get in the way. When You make yourself very evident, though, our hearts burn within us. Will you help us to recognize that and trust it. Your presence can make us brave. Today, we commit ourselves to You. We want to be transformed by Your presence in our lives and Your power in our bodies. We belong to You, and that Truth makes us glad. Amen.
