Journey of Prayer- Day 32
Tuesday, February 16, 2021
Remember the prisoners, as though in prison with them, and those who are ill-treated, since you yourselves also are in the body. Hebrews 13:3
One of the reasons most of us may not “remember” prisoners is because we don’t know anyone in prison. Well, we can take a proactive stance by making ourselves aware of information concerning persecuted Christians. And, the most convicting part to me is that we must not only remember them, we are called to remember those in prison as if you were in prison with them. If you were in prison because of living out the gospel and worshipping our God what would you want your brothers and sisters in Christ to do for you? Do that for them. Pray for and support your persecuted brothers and sisters. And, let’s also remember those who are being mistreated, abused, and afflicted because of their faith.
Just as Chris pointed out, if you don’t know any persecuted Christians, there are ministries that you can support monetarily and prayerfully. They need us to say fervent prayers, asking our Lord to protect them, provide for them, help them and give them peace. If you are familiar with a ministry supporting persecuted Christians or if you are supporting someone being persecuted for their faith, would you please let us know in the comments section below? We would love to learn from you and be inspired by you!!
As we remember those who suffer because of their love and dedication to God, let’s also remember the Golden Rule- treat others the way that you would want to be treated.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We bow down before you and ask that our heart’s desires be your heart’s desires and that we walk according to your will. We ask that you guide us in specific ways to pray for and care for and share in the suffering of the persecuted. May our heart break when yours does. We do not want busyness to get in the way of remembering our persecuted and mistreated brothers and sisters in Christ along with others on our prayer list. Let us always recall that we are all one body. Protection and peace for all!
In your son’s name we pray.
