Christmas Devotional
Why did Jesus come?
Jesus came to give us contentment.
Not that I speak from want; for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am in. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:11-13
And he is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the first born from the dead; so that he himself might come to have first place in everything. Colossians 1:17-18
But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted loss for the sake of Christ. More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish in order that I may gain Christ. Philippians 3:7-8
Whom have I in heaven but you?
And besides you, I desire nothing on earth.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Psalm 73:25-26
My Child,
I came to give you contentment. You will obtain this fulfillment if, and only if, I am the Lord of your life. When I have first place in your heart, you will not want anything else. Daily yield to me, and I will faithfully satisfy the longings of your heart and soul.
Immanuel

Dear Lord,
Thank you for filling our cups!
Thank you for being our all in all.
Keep our hearts longing for you alone, because only you can satisfy.
You have come to us; you understand our every need and desire. Thank you for meeting us in these places with your abiding Spirit.
Because of you, Lord Jesus, we have comfort and joy. Amen.
