Christmas Devotional

Why did Jesus come?

Jesus came to give us love.

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13

…And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Romans 5:5

But God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sonners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. 1 John 4:16

My Child,

I came to give you love. There is no greater love on this earth that the love that I possess for you. I took off my crown of righteousness and replaced it with a crown of thorns so that you could live with me now and forever. I did not have to do this; I wanted to.

Immanuel

Dear Lord, Thank you for the love that you have given us as your children. Thank You for coming to earth to show us love and sacrificing your life in the greatest expression of love ever displayed. May we love others like you have taught us to love, Jesus! We LOVE you, LORD! In Jesus' Name and for the Father's glory. Amen
