Monday, January 10.2022 ACTS: A Way to Pray
Psalm 8:1-4 O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and infants you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. When I look to your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, that you care for him?
Adoration: Dear Heavenly Creator,
How can I even comprehend how bright your glory and majesty shines in all the heavens and for all the earth to see? It’s overwhelming when I look to the sky and see the moon and stars in place and know that You are the one that has set them there. Likewise, it overwhelms me to know that you would create, love, protect and care for a spec of a human like me. Oh Father, what an awesome and wonderful God you are!
Confession: Can you forgive me when I am forgetful and dismiss who you are and what you have done?? How often am I caught up in the minutia of my life, struggling to make it work when all I need to do is GO to you? Please forgive me for the times I think I am a better manager that you.
Thanksgiving: Lord, thank you that you are mindful of me .Thank you for your care, love, protection, guidance and provision you so graciously give. Thank you for the beauty I am privileged to witness everyday.
Supplication: Help me to be mindful of you and who this Psalm says you are. Let my confidence not come from myself but from my creator and sustainer. When my focus wonders and I see only worldly things, pick me up, set me straight and remind me You are my One and Only.Amen
