Psalm 36:7-10

How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light. Oh, continue your steadfast love to those who know you, and your righteousness to the upright of heart!

Adoration:

Dear Heavenly Father, You are my refuge. I am safe in your protective care. You give me everything I need. I delight in your light and love! Your goodness fills me to overflowing. You are the God who gives and keeps giving.

Confession:

I confess to you that I do not always “drink from your river of delights.” Forgive me for “sipping from other fountains” thinking that it will satisfy the longings of my heart. Once again, I put my selfish ambition and my people pleasing desires on your holy alter.

Thanksgiving:

Thank you for taking these things and replacing it with your righteousness. Thank you for your light that directs me and your love that fills me. Your mercy and grace continue to flow forward and I am so grateful to be caught up in it!

Supplication:

Keep me close to you I pray. When I start to wander, please pull me back underneath your protective wings. When I start to crave other things, give me a thirst for your living word. Only you can give abundant life! Please become my one and only passion, my best thought, my greatest love. I pray all these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Use these verses and ACTS to write your own personal prayer in your journal.

Questions to ponder: What other “fountains” are luring to you? Culture, social media, the “latest and the greatest next thing” and so many other temptations are all shouting at us saying, “Drink up!” Do these things really satisfy? Share your thoughts about this or anything else that spoke to you today in the scripture or prayer.
