ACTS: A Way to Pray

ACTS: A Way to Pray January 3 – February 25 2022

Monday, January 3 ACTS: A Way to Pray

Psalm 100 Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.

Welcome to 2022, Soul Sisters! Ushering in a new year always brings a time of fresh starts and opportunity to make changes. Our ACTS study is designed to do just that. For the weeks to come, we will be exploring a new way to pray.

Today is just the introduction of what we have to look forward to the remainder of this week. Here are some important things to note as we get started.

ACTS is an acronym that stands for the following:

Adoration Confession Thanksgiving Supplication

This first week is a daily focus on each letter in the word ACTS. Each post writer will explain the letter of the day. Our goal of this study is to teach “a new way to pray”. Post writers will write a daily prayer using the daily Scripture that is provided. Note: this is not the ONLY way to pray, it’s just A way to pray. Lastly, we encourage you to grab your journal to log in your own daily prayer where you can be more specific with names and circumstances you are praying over.

That’s the overview. Tomorrow, Dayna will kick us off with Adoration.

Heavenly Father, I come to You on this new day in this new year with a joyful noise in my heart and on my lips. I confess that I can get off track so easily and my focus on You wavers. I get so caught up in my “stuff” that I forget ! I am so thankful that YOU are Lord God who made me, who leads me, who loves me. I am the sheep and You are the Shepherd and today that feels so comforting. Father, guide me throughout this study and teach me a new way to pray and worship You. Please continue to open my eyes to more of You. Amen
