Forty Days of Praise: Approachable

Thursday, April 2

Approachable

(Heartbeat of God p. 221)

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Heb. 4:16

Right now, we can’t get closer than 6 feet to anyone outside of those with whom we share a roof. In some states you can be fined, arrested even, if you approach others. Of course, we all now know this is what they call “social distancing.” I am so relieved that God does not distant Himself from us!

I praise our Heavenly Father for the fact that we can approach God anytime, no matter what we are facing. Today, with all the uncertainties and dangers that have been forced on us because of the Coronavirus, knowing that God is approachable takes a heavy burden off our shoulders. We are not facing this alone; He is always with us. We don’t have to make critical decisions on our own. God has promised that if we come to Him, we will “obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” God urges us to come to Him first, so that He can equip us supernaturally with the knowledge and wisdom to handle situations that we have never faced before. He knows that this pandemic is a situation we have never had to face before. He knows that many of us are fearful of the calamity that this virus can bring: the infection itself, the possible loss of loved ones, and the economic impact that comes from a country on lockdown are just some of the fears we are all experiences. What do we do while waiting out the CoVid 19 Crisis, what do we do while waiting through any crisis? We come into His presence and we place our burdens at His feet. We trust in Him to get us through.

I am so grateful that we are told to come “boldly” to God’s throne of grace. We don’t have to be shy or hesitant in asking God for help. We are His children. He loves us unconditionally and He knows what we need and desire before we utter the first words of prayer. And Sister, He is ready to release His blessings that meet our specific needs…blessings of peace, courage, strength, provision, security, health, happiness, and many more.

Finally, as we approach God with our prayers, He wants us to ask expecting to receive what we ask for because Jesus has promised, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.” James 1:5-6 tells us to pray believing that we will receive. Paul reminds us to pray with thanksgiving. This means thanking God before you see any answers. Lift your voice in praise to the God who meets your needs. Trust God to come through in His time and in His way. He is faithful!

Dear Lord, I praise you! I thank You that You are Approachable! You are our “Abba”, Daddy! I am awed that we can come to You like a child, into your loving arms knowing that I am always accepted and loved by You, no matter how imperfect I feel. I can laugh with You, cry with You, tell You everything that is on my mind and heart. Thank you for letting me come boldly before Your throne whenever I need help, knowing that You always answer my prayers. I praise You Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
