Forty Days of Praise -- My Protector

The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. Psalm 34:7
Post: p. 84
I'm writing this post a little early, because I'm traveling this weekend and may not be able to write on Friday. Even now, though, I'm praising God for His protection.
I'm wordy by nature and often can't summarize a writing to save my life. Yet, during these 40 days of praise I've found that most often I want my words to be few and His words to be many. I'm feeling that way again today.
I want to encourage you to sit with your Bible, a pen, and a journal. Please read through every verse that has been provided. Read ALL of Psalm 34, because it's amazing! Then, praise your Protector.
After you've had some time of praise, please share with us a time when He protected you from something. In my small group Bible study, we are studying the armor of God. Last week, we learned that the shield that Paul referenced in the "shield of faith" of Ephesians 6 was tall enough and wide enough that a soldier could curl up on the ground and be completely covered by his shield laying on top of Him. Our God is our refuge and our shield. He protects. I imagine in a group as large as ours there would be hundreds of stories of God's very real protection. Help us strengthen our shields of faith by telling us your story of God's protection.

God, You are my Protector, and I'm more than thankful today. No virus can eternally threaten me, because you are my refuge, rescue, and shield. You are in complete control. Today, we confess that You are still on Your throne. You are still in control. So, we do not have to fear what can temporarily hurt us because You've promised that we overcome IN YOU. Specifically today, God, protect us from the fiery darts of the Enemy that he wants to use to steal our joy, our comfort, our peace, and security that are found in YOU. Give us the courage to curl up under the security of You, our shield, and rest.
