"Do You Hear What I Hear?" is a carol composed in October 1962, with lyrics by Noël Regney and music by Gloria Shayne Baker. The pair, married at the time, created this carol as an appeal for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dear Heavenly Father,

All throughout the day we are bombarded by sounds and craziness all around us. We are distracted and our attention spans are short. This Christmas season, let us sing the song of peace and proclaim that “The Child, The Child sleeping in the night” came to “bring us goodness and light.” Let us see, hear, and know all the peace and goodness your Son, our Savior, brings to us today and for eternal life.
