Luke 2:13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Song Lyrics:
Said the night wind to the little lamb, "Do you see what I see? Way up in the sky, little lamb. Do you see what I see? A star, a star Dancing in the night With a tail as big as a kite, With a tail as big as a kite."
Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy, Do you hear what I hear?
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy, Do you hear what I hear?
Do you hear what I hear?
A song, a song,
High above the trees With a voice as big as the sea With a voice as big as the sea.” Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king, "Do you know what I know? Do you know what I know? In your palace warm, mighty king, Do you know what I know? Do you know what I know? A child, a child Shivers in the cold. Let us bring him silver and gold. Let us bring him silver and gold." Said the king to the people everywhere, "Listen to what I say. Listen to what I say. Pray for peace, people, everywhere. Listen to what I say. Listen to what I say. The child, the child Sleeping in the night. He will bring us goodness and light. He will bring us goodness and light."
"Do You Hear What I Hear?" is a carol composed in October 1962, with lyrics by Noël Regney and music by Gloria Shayne Baker. The pair, married at the time, created this carol as an appeal for peace during the Cuban Missile Crisis. This carol's lyrics recall the birth of Jesus and the events surrounding the traditional Christmas story. (Godtube.com/Do You Hear What I Hear?)

Dear Heavenly Father,
All throughout the day we are bombarded by sounds and craziness all around us. We are distracted and our attention spans are short. This Christmas season, let us sing the song of peace and proclaim that “The Child, The Child sleeping in the night” came to “bring us goodness and light.” Let us see, hear, and know all the peace and goodness your Son, our Savior, brings to us today and for eternal life. Amen
