WE GO - Show Up for Him
Thursday, May 9, 2019
On behalf of our guest writer Kathryn Anne Stringer.
We are each His beautiful and unique vessel, called to pour out the light and love of Christ; therefore, WE GO…
“Oh my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.” Then the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Who makes him mute, or deaf, or seeing, or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.” Exodus 4:10-12
I have always compared myself to Moses in his speech. When I was very young, I was so shy that I spoke to literally no one but my parents and siblings, and my sister was so outgoing that she just spoke for the both of us. When I was a little older, I began speaking super fast and mumbled so that people would not have to hear me speak for very long. Because I have never been the most eloquent speaker, I sometimes get very self conscious when sharing the Gospel or when encouraging a friend with God’s love. How could a story so magnificent be told by someone who cannot speak very well?
Well, how far is this from the truth? In fearing I could mess up sharing the Gospel is actually giving myself way too much power. I do not have the power to mess up because it is ultimately not my power doing the work—it’s Jesus’ power.
A lot of us have discussed that fear is what holds us back from sharing God’s love. We may all have different fears, yet we are all called to the same mission. It is okay to not feel good enough. It is okay to make mistakes when speaking. It is okay to have grammatical mistakes in your writing. Guess what...we are humans! BUT, none of these things should hold us back from GOING. It is completely okay to sometimes feel not good enough, yet we must remember that we are good enough because Jesus covers us, and He is MORE than good enough! Some days we may feel like the world is caving in on us and we are hopeless in doing any good in sharing the Gospel, yet Jesus simply wants us to show up. I all the time feel like there is nothing I can possible do to change people, and there’s not—that’s all God’s power. Almost every day I hear God say, “Just show up. I’ve got this.”
God knows you, and He knows all of your fears and shortcomings, yet He still calls YOU to go share His love. He just wants us to show up, and He will make what we say and do beautiful!

Dear Lord, You are so good. You could do all of this on your own—all of this ministry—yet you choose us take take part in it. We are so honored and grateful that you use our hands and feet to share your amazing love with other people. We kneel before you and ask that you would forever speak through us to others. May people hear your voice and not our own. In all things we praise you, our wonderful and loving Father. Amen.
